Can you quote for bodywork without seeing my car?

No. We need to see the damage as we may be able to just repair it without having to replace anything.

Can you do insurance bodywork?

Yes we can carry out bodywork through the insurance. Despite what your insurance company tells you, you are under no obligation to provide more than one bodywork quote to them, nor are you obliged to go to one of their ‘approved’ bodyshops – it’s your choice.

Do you provide courtesy cars?

We do have courtesy cars available. There is no charge for the use of these although we do ask that you provide your own insurance to drive them.

How can I pay my bill?

We accept all major debit and credit cards apart from American Express. We accept payment by cash. Unfortunately we no longer accept cheques.

Can you supply new registration plates?

Yes we can but you will need to bring proof of ownership of the vehicle and one piece of ID.

Do I need to bring my old MOT Certificate?

In most cases no. However, some imports or vintage and classic vehicles don’t always necessarily show up on VOSA’s computer system. If you ask our reception staff when you telephone they will be able to advise.

Do you MOT quads?

Not at the moment.

Can I wait?

Ideally, we prefer to give you a lift to wherever you need to be but if this is not ideal for you we have a very comfortable reception area with a TV and hot drinks available.

Can I see any old parts from my vehicle?

As a member of the Bosch Car Service Network and being Office of Fair Trading approved we are required to make any old parts from your vehicle available for you to inspect. Don’t hesitate to ask.

What happens if my car fails its MOT? Can I take it away?

You have 10 working days from the date on your failure sheet for any failure work to be carried out. We can carry out the failure work for you and there is no retest fee. However, if you’d prefer to take it away that’s not a problem. There will be a retest fee of 50% of the current retail MOT price. We would also ask you to sign a disclaimer if the vehicle is dangerous before taking it away.

Is my vehicle safe to leave overnight?

Our premises are completely secure. We have 24 hour CCTV on our premises and no vehicles are left out overnight. We are completely insured.

What’s the MOT retest time?

10 working days from the date on your failure sheet.

I don’t need a service, but I’m going away. Is there any sort of car check I can have?

We offer a seasonal check for all our customers. Ask our reception staff for details.

What about my child seats during the MOT?

Your seatbelts are tested during the MOT but we are not allowed to remove child seats to do this. Therefore it will be noted on your MOT paperwork that the seatbelts holding the child seats were not tested.

Do we have set prices for servicing?

All cars are different so it’s difficult to give a set price for servicing until we have seen it. We prefer to give you an honest price after inspection than a cheap estimate only to bump up the price with ‘added extras’.

Do we supply and fit snow tyres?

Yes we can supply and fit snow tyres.

Can you tell me what the light on my dashboard means?

Yes. Call in to see us and our technicians can probably tell you there and then what the warning light on your dashboard is by carrying out a diagnostic check for a standard charge.

Do you recover?

We do offer recovery services during business hours.

Does it affect my manufacturer’s warranty if it doesn’t go back to the dealer?

Your manufacturer’s warranty is not affected if you do not go back to the dealer.
